AICTE is offering a 2-Year MCA (Lateral Entry) programme also, along with existing MCA (3-Years) course. The course is exclusively designed to meet the IT requirements for various organizations. The core objective of this programme is to prepare the students for productive career in software industry and also to meet the manpower requirement of the fast-developing software industry.
The lateral entry MCA Course is a 2-Year duration programme that is designed to provide an opportunity to the students who hold Bachelor Degree in Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) - Computer Science/IT to undertake Master of Computer Application (MCA) Course. The 2-Year MCA programme provides knowledge upgradation and skill development for students with BCA, BSc (Computer Science/Information Technology) qualification who could successfully extend their valuable contribution in streamlining the decision-making process and innovation in the areas of Computer Applications in near future.
Candidates having an MCA degree may have great employment opportunities in top IT companies and top consultancy firms.
At present, with the advancement of IT & Communication systems, people with good computer application skills are highly demanded in IT sector. MCA qualified students can find jobs easily in government and private sector. Numerous job are available in both the sectors. Candidates can get profiles as per their skills and caliber.
MCA candidate can start their career as an entry level trainee programmer. At the beginning, they have to work in different roles and areas. Responsibilities of an IT professional is to develop, test and maintain softwares/applications.
Candidates with MCA degree can also choose their profession in teaching field. They can also work as a lecturer in reputed colleges/Universities.

• The Student should have bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (IT/ Computer Science) with Mathematics as a Course at 10+2 level or at Graduation Level. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.
